[Selection and Grading Standards]

The grading standard of ruby is mainly based on 1T and 4C: (Transparency), (Colour), (Clarity), (Cut), (Carat).

①Transparency

In the visual appraisal of rubies, transparency is generally categorized into: transparent, sub-transparent, semi-transparent, opaque four levels.

②Color

Ruby color is mainly divided into pigeon blood red, red, pink, light red, dark red and other five colors. Closer to the better is the deeper pure red, followed by a slightly purple red, the following in turn for the deeper pink, purple red, slightly brown red, others such as brown red, blackened red, very light pink are poor ruby.

③Clarity

Clarity refers to the amount of inclusions in a gemstone. Ruby and sapphire usually contain a certain amount of inclusions, the size, quantity, sharpness and location of the inclusions have an important impact on the value of ruby and sapphire.

④Cut

⑤ Carat weight
